Watch Satellite TV on PC – Hardware SetUp Needed

Watching satellite TV on PC is a reality that has hit American homes in recent years. LIVE sports channels and entertainment programs are among the hottest satellite TV shows watched. The traditional way to watch satellite TV is to enable your PC to receive the TV channel feed using a PCTV card.

There are 2 kinds of PCTV cards, namely internal and external. Internal cards are hidden from sight and are not much of a concern to you in terms of installation. External ones are connected to your PC at the USB port and connected to your phone line or network cable line. Nowadays, you can easily find wireless ones. They used to be expensive but prices have dropped quite a far bit due to competition.

Remember to check if your PC has a USB port inlet. Most PCTV cards would require a minimum of 128 MB RAM speed, and Pentium 3.

Other peripheral your computer needs to have is of course the CD Rom drive to run and install the setup application from the installation CD and sound card. Sound cards are cheap nowadays so don’t scrimp on them. Invest in a solid graphics card if you want digital-quality TV viewing.

2. Speed of Internet Connection

What is the speed of your internet connection? Broadband speeds of 512 KB per second is the industry standard. If you want the transmitting of Satellite TV feeds to be smooth, this plays a very important role. Once again, invest in a good broadband subscription plan.
